Why Learn on the Automatic?

There was perhaps a time when people learned on a car with automatic transmission because for one reason or another they were not able to cope with a "normal" car, which had a gear stick and clutch pedal. Those times are past! Most people now drive automatic cars from choice. Why not join them? Automatic cars are intrinsically safer than their manual counterparts because (amongst other things) the driver's hands can remain on the steering wheel longer.
Most car manufacturers produce automatic versions of their popular manual models. Fuel economy is now comparable to the ordinary manual models and resale values are normally higher (meaning lower depreciation - a major consideration).

What Car do you use?

The Nissan Micra GX.
If you live in our area you've probably seen it. It's blue with the "Buddies" headboard. The automatic gearbox has the advanced "Nissan constant velocity transmission" meaning that it is even easier to drive than a conventional automatic car, you cannot detect the gear changes and it doesn't "creep".

Do you Piggy-Back"?

No!

Some instructors use the end of a pupil's lesson to collect the next pupil who then drives the earlier pupil home. This system has big economic arguments in its' favour from the Instructor's perspective. He can cram more lessons into a day, 25% of the pupil's lesson is devoted to something other than training them! Our lessons are for a full hour, normally door to door. There is no other pupil in the car. Concerned parents are always welcome to view their off-springs progress on request though.

Which areas do you teach in?

I'm based in Seven Kings, Iford, Essex. This is to the east of London).
I normally teach in the Ilford, Barking, Dagenham and Romford areas. If you live, for example, in East London you can be be met at a station and the lesson started without the tedium of driving away from the traffic first!
The normal test centres used are Ilford, Barking, Hornchurch and Chingford. But I'm open to any interesting alternatives!

When are lessons?

The first normal lesson starts at 8 in the morning and the last finishes at 9.30 at night. Monday to Sunday inclusive! Other times are available as well (to take the 8.40 test for example or perhaps for advanced driving or "Pass Plus")

Are there any special prices?

It is a good idea to have the first lesson of two hours. There is a special introductory price for this.
In addition there are special rates for Students & unemployed (lessons anytime Monday to Friday) and where ten lessons are paid in advance.
